Founded in 2008, Shein has grown to become the world's largest online fashion retailer knocking off retail giants like Zara and H&M. 

Currently, Shein is able to ship across 150+ countries making it a completely worldwide brand. With its inexpensive pricing and fast fashion designs particularly popular amongst Gen Z consumers, Shein generates upwards of US$24 billion in revenue annually.

Shein’s Hiring Process Overview

Shein’s hiring process consists of 4 different rounds of interviews with their team members depending on the role you're applying for. The 4 rounds of interviews include:

  • A Phone Interview with HR
  • A Team Manager Interview
  • A Take Home Assessment or An In-Office Assessment
  • A Final Interview

Although this is the typical hiring process, the amount of interviews differ between roles. As a general rule of thumb, the more senior your role is the more interviews you will undergo.

For Shein model jobs, there likely is only online interviews or even email assessments with very little interviews. These roles are typically contractual and based on your creative ability and following.

Additionally, for the assessment interview, be prepared to be assessed based on the role you are interviewing for (e.g. software engineer roles will go through technical assessments, customer service interviews will go through more behaviour based assessments).

Also, keep in mind that Shein is located in Singapore so all jobs that don’t include Shein modeling jobs will be sourced locally or within the region. How Difficult Is It To Get Hired At Shein?

Shein’s hiring process is rated 2.5 out of 5 by Glassdoor. Out of 40 interviews, 30% were rated negative, 45% were rated positive, & about 25% were rated neutral. These interviewers were conducted on a broad range of job positions such as warehouse manager, creative director, key account managers, security engineer, etc. Because Shein is such a big company, you’ll often find many job positions across a broad range of categories.. Generally, the more open roles they have for a position the easier it’ll be to get hired as you’ll have less competition. What Are Some Questions I Can Expect In The Shein Interview Process?

Typically, the questions that the Shein team will ask you when getting interviewed are based on the role that you are getting hired for. You can expect questions directly related to your role that you may have received for similar positions. Overall, common questions that seem to come up a lot regardless of the role being hired for are questions like:

2. Tell me about the last time you dealt with a difficult situation?

3. Have you ever used one of our products?

For Influencer Marketing roles:

  1. Identify a list of influencers to work with in 2022
  2. What are some of the campaigns you’ve done in the past? What has the ROI been?


For Marketing Roles

  1. What is a lesson we can learn from other ecommerce platforms?
  2. How do you solve an increase in abandoned carts?
  3. Talk about a campaign you’ve worked on in the past

How Long Does It Take To Hear Back From Shein After The First Interview

Shein has been consistent with following up each interview by planning the next interview, usually done within a week's time depending on the calendar availability. You can expect a second interview in 1 to 2 weeks if you pass the first interview.

Step 3: Getting Hired

How Long Does The Entire Hiring Process At Shein Take?

Typically, you can expect the entire process to take 4 weeks to 3 months. Each interview is usually spread 1 week apart. This hiring process is usually the standard case for more common, managerial or associate roles.

For more senior roles, expect this process to take up to 3 months. For roles that are more senior, their process of vetting the candidate will take longer as more members of the team have to meet with the applicant.
